apps and licensing?

Hello all,

How does Apple handle apps and licensing?

By that I mean when one purchases an app is that app tied to the user or device? In other words when/if I upgrade devices, will I be able to load my previously purchased apps on a new device?

The apps are in fact ties to the iTunes account, but they can be synced to as many devices as you wish at any given time. As long as they are synced with the same iTunes account.

I believe it is up to five devices. I've had one original iPhone replaced, and I upgraded to a 3G, and my purchased apps were installed on all of them. Here's a link:

Yeah what Apple did with the whole App account thing is really helpful.

See, me, my brother, and my father all have iphone, ipod touch and if one buys a app, we go and buy it to (Being free of course to us) verry interesting on whos going to buy the App first haha

Didn't know that.. new it was up to five for music, but never tried it with Apps before. Good to know.

The part I was saying no to was the '1 phone at a time' part.

I believe it's up to 5 *computers* at once. Dunno if there's a limit of phones/iPod Touches, but each of those 5 computers doesn't know anything about what the other computers are doing.
