In summary, I have had my XR for about 11 months and it has worked like a dream for 10.5 of those but since updating to the latest ios a week or two ago I have experienced a lot of app crashing/restarting issues. For example, the camera app loads but instantly crashes when I take a photo (it doesn't save the photo), switching between apps causing them all to restart (for example, I could be looking at facebook and switch to another app and go back to where I was before and it would completely restart).. I have literally changed none of the settings (yes, background app refresh is on as it was prior to the update) since the update but it seems to have had a massively negative impact on my phone performance. Yes, I have done a hard reset etc. which helps temporarily but clearly hasn't fixed the issue. In fact, I've probably done 10 hard resets in the past 2 weeks versus 2 or 3 in the previous 10.5 months.

I have a genius bar appointment tomorrow but just wondering if anyone else has had similar issues and, if so, what the problem and fix was.

Seems to be a bug of iOS 13. Check if 13.1.3 will fix it. In worst case you'll need a factory reset.

Doesn’t look like it will:

Excuse my ignorance but how will a factory reset fix it? Surely when I restore from the backup that I create before the reset the bug will still be there?

iOS updates can fix bugs even if it was not on the list, so worth trying. About factory reset, apps crash not for all users, so there's a high chance that factory reset can fix it.

About backups, not all bugs are carried over with the backup. If it will, try factory reset and set up as new for testing.

Not sure that guys at Apple Store will suggest smth else.

Thanks, makes sense.

Agree that it is probably a waste of time going to theApple store but I want to do so for peace of mind given that I only have a month left on warranty; on the off chance that it is a hardware problem, I’d rather check it out now whilst under warranty.

Let me know what they say. Had several random app crashes yesterday suddenly... :D

Ran diagnostics and no hardware issues. They blamed it on the iOS. There have been 5 iterations of iOS 13 so I was clearly using the one with a lot of bugs when I experienced the issues.
On 13.1.3 now and it has been fine for a couple of days.

Hi. Let me brief you very quick. I am using iPhone 11 with the latest update of iOS. A group of apps are crashing around the clock. WhatsApp is the worst since I cannot send even a letter! The loyalty cards app, called Stocard, gets stuck when trying to load up. Some of the apps just get frozen. In that case, I could get back to the home screen and open the other apps; thus, the phone platform is not frozen. the videos on Facebook and Messenger don't play at all or they play under the black screen. Please help me! I detest conducting the soft and hard resets and having the network reset 24/7.

Cheers!
