Apps fail to download midway through restore

Was restoring from iCloud to my new iPhone 6s. I left it going overnight and it still had a few apps hanging the next morning. But they just won't download. Nor will any updates to current apps. I tried deleting and reinstalling the apps from scratch and I get the message that the app cannot be downloaded at this time.

I wasn't able to download ios 9.0.1 ota either but managed to sort that via iTunes.

New apps I've never had before seem to download perfectly fine.

Any idea what the heck is going on?

I've got this issue with 3 apps after restoring into a new 6S.

Probably an iOS 9 bug.

Never too good of an idea to restore on a .x release.

Same here with iTunes restore. 3 new phones all did the same thing. Would love to be able to do a semirestore. Just choose what you want to restore. I need to keep text messages for one, I have work related messages I need. Then if the issues truly are from restoring from a backup we could potentially get around it.

i ended up wiping the device and restoring again and it now seems to be working. No idea what went wrong but I think it's now fixed.
