Despite having 8Gig of Ram in my brand new iPhone 15 Pro Max, apps are getting kicked out a bit too often compared to my previous iPhone 13 pro even when running iOS17.

Are you experiencing the same thing ?

Are you using low power mode or the camera app?
Nope. I only have 4 or 5 open apps like, FaceBook, Messenger, Music App, Phone app and after a while, every time I click on one of those apps, it restarts. Quite strange and annoying.

It’s a normal part of iOS aggressive ram management strategy. That’s why I don’t bother buying iPhone/iPads with more RAM. I have a 4GB Ram device and I’ve had a webpage form open in safari half filled in. Someone comes in so I talk to them for 10 minutes. I pick up my phone and unlock it and safari reloads the page losing all the form input. I just shrug and carry on, if you want no app reloads you need to use a “real” OS that does virtual mem swapping …. Like windows 95! 😆

Yeah I’m noticing similar behavior on my 15 Pro, didn’t happen as often on my 14 Pro. But I’m chalking it up to the phone still getting sorted out, otherwise I guess we’ll just have to wait for a software update.

Is it still happening after the latest iOS 17.0.3 update?
I am going from 13 Pro Max to 15 Pro Max this coking week, so hoping the updates (both FW and 3rd party apps) fixed this.

I’ve noticed this on my 14 PM. Apps don’t stay open as much as they used to. RAM management isn’t the best in 17.
