Would apps such as iWork '06 be made for PPC or not considering possible Intel Mac's when iWork '06 will be released?

Also, how will the switch to Intel affect Tiger? Will widgets have to be made differently? Or are 3rd party apps the ONLY problem? This is so tough deciding whether to get an Intel iBook in January or a PPC one for a lowered price.

Well, some widgets have binary components in them. Those components are subject to the same rules, I think, as any other app -- they will run on Mactels if they will run on the G3 Mac/PPC environment. It's a no-impact for all widgets that do not have binary components, unless of course the next OS X has a substantially changed Dashboard. I'd bet the Apple ones will all be taken care of by the time the first Mactel is available.

I tend to doubt that widgets will be tough to re-compile, though. They've all been made very recently, so the ones with binaries should probably have been made in XCode. :)
