Apps like OneDrive not recognised by iOS Passwords app to autofill username password.
iOS Passwords app detects the website login pages on Safari to prompt for filling username and password.

But it does not detect apps to fill username and password. iOS Apps like OneDrive (and many others) are not recognised by iOS Passwords app to autofill username password. As a result when trying to login on the apps, the username and password are to be filled manually by the user instead of it filled up automatically like it happens on Safari webpages login forms.
How to enable filling up of username and password in apps using iOS Passwords app.

But sometimes the iOS Mail app also does not autofill username and password while adding a new mail account. While at other times, the username and password gets autofilled in the Mail app.

Why does it happen.

it's up to the App to support Passwords

This.

And why some email accounts work is that they most likely use OAuth (eg. Gmail) which presents a webpage to sign-in, generate the login token for Mail app.
