Hi there,

I’m looking to see if anyone has any suggestions for an issue I’m experiencing since upgrading to iPhone 14 Pro.

If I leave an app to another, even after a minute or two, the app seems to be reloading as if it’s not active or has been closed. For example, I was on a listing in Zillow, jumped to Spark, and came back to Zillow and it loads the “start screen” with the map instead of going back into the listing. This is happening on all apps, even iMessage, where instead of it showing the last convo I was in (that even shows in the switcher UI as I’m switching back) it loads the main list of messages.

This thread on Apple discussions is the same experience… but the remedy was to reinstall without backup which I’d like to avoid.

Any other advice?

I can't reproduce the issue while on wi-fi or cellular data on my humble SE 2022 running iOS 16.0.2, but I have background app refresh enabled for almost all the apps. I'm not sure if that makes a difference for what you're describing.

I wasn’t able to resolve the issue by reinstalling apps, but I was able to backup, wipe and reinstall and restore from backup and so far apps have been behaving.

Note that the background update setting didn’t change the broken state. I also use that feature for most apps.
