I have an original iphone that i use and have purchased apps using my account.

Now, my sister just bought a 3GS and im setting it up for her on my itunes. I noticed that it used my itunes account when i downloaded Facebook. Can i download the same apps i purchased before for free on this new iphone?

Yes. You can do 1 of 2 things.

1. Sync her iPhone with you library and share 1 iTunes account. This includes your billing information and everything else, so you might want to be careful.

2. She can set up her own iTunes account to purchase apps herself. However, you can still share apps, even on different computers/devices. All you have to do is log into the other account on the computer she syncs with (or on the phone) and download apps that you've purchased.

All apps are associated with your account and can be redownloaded at anytime for free, just make sure you are logged into the right account!

Also, if you share apps, the original purchaser will have to put in their password for all future app updates.

thanks. Could someone explain syncing to me...

I just downloaded apps onto the phone through the iphone. But if I download from itunes then sync I have to delete everything i just installed?

If you try to to sync with a different computer it will make you delete everything.

If you buy apps/music on the phone you can click "Transfer Purchases" in iTunes to get the apps you bought on the phone onto the computer.
