As the title states, I purchased 2 apps on my iPhone through the app store (Super Monkey Ball and MLB at Bat) and every time I sync my iPhone, it doesn't place them in the applications area within iTunes. I was wondering if anyone else had this problem and/or a solution for it. I could assume that I could try to purchase it on my computer and it should tell me something along the lines of "You already purchased this, download again for free?" like it does if you do that on the Mobile App Store.

Very frustrating to say the least.

Transfer Purchases

I ran into this well the solution is simple. Under the device pane right click on your iPhone and select Transfer Purchases this will transfer any apps onto your computer.

But first...

Great advice, musicPenGuy, but first, when right-clicking on the iPhone, select "Reset Warnings". Then, when you click "Transfer Purchases", it does so :)
Another forum someone reported that AppleCare knows this is a bug and is working on a fix. (yay! :) )

Doesn't work for me. Even with resetting warnings first.

Maybe this will work for you guys, it worked for me: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1389?viewlocale=en_US

I got it from here: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1610395&tstart=75

In my situation, the application tab was grayed out.

I tried your suggestion and still no luck. Did anyone else try the suggestion and have success?

My issue is not so much authorizing my account or computer but rather it just won't sync the apps back and forth.

Hang in there folks, this one of several bugs they are trying to work out with App compatibility. 2.0.1 will probably fix this as well as instability on the iPhone itself. Here's hoping they get this out soon. Like this week..:D

Settings > General > Restrictions > Installing Apps > Off. ;)

Yeah it is not that. I have apps installed on my phone that were downloaded through the phone, but those apps are not transferring to my desktop and then the apps I downloaded on my desktop are not transferring to me iPhone and when it tried I get the error message seen above in the forum.

I guess I will just wait for the software update...

This might sound stupid, but I have to ask;

Have you ticked the checkbox under the 'Applications' tab to 'Sync Applications'?

Also, you may have to sync a number of times for iTunes to recognize you actually have applications in your library. (It's temperamental atm)

Yeah I have it clicked and I sync my phone ever day when I get to the office in the morning. Still nothing.

ryry919,

Not sure if you've solved this problem yet, but I've had the same error when sync'ing multiple apps.
I get around it by first unselecting all the apps that show up in the error details. These are usually apps that have been updated through iTunes.
I sync my iPhone again (there should be no errors this time).
I then reselect and resync one app at a time.

I know it's pain to have to sync between each app transfer. But it is the only thing that works for me consistently.

Now, has anyone figured out the iPhone purchased apps not transfering to iTunes problem? This one drives me nuts.

Yeah it actually fixed itself when the software updates came out.
