Apps Quitting Unexpectedly?

Today, for the first time ever when I opened appcleaner, I got a message saying that it "Quit Unexpectedly." The same thing happened for the Automater app. What is going on and is there a solution?

What exact Mac OS X version on what exact Mac do you run? What has happened shortly before the beginning of the unexpected quitting of applications?
Does it also happen in another, even temporarily created, account?

Im using Mac OS X Version
Processor: 3.06 GHz Intel Core i3
Memory: 10.6.6 4GB 1333 MHz DDR3

Its the 21.5 in Mac, got it in September of 2010.
