Hi... like many of you, my Big Sur upgrade has not been entirely positive. I have upgraded a 2020 MBP 13 and a 2017 iMac Pro, both of which were similarly configured in terms of what software was installed. Both machines had issues with apps that had kernel extensions (Paragon, Acronis) that I had to work through and wait for some app updates. For the iMac Pro, I still have a lingering problem that after the system has been up and running for a few hours, when I quit an app (even one as simple as Calculator), it does not quit immediately. It seems hung like it needs a Force Quit, but if I wait 20 min or so it will eventually quit.

Has anyone else experienced this upgrade side-effect? Any suggestions (besides a clean install, which is on my list of things to consider).

Yup. Firefox did that after it froze, and I would have to force-quit it. Probably has to do with app/plugin incompatibilities.

Thankfully the latest beta fixed that problem, b/c FF 83 under Big Sur would become unusable after a few minutes.

Same here for different kind of applications - Teams, Notability, Zoom...
