my friend has an iPhone 5. When her friend purchased the phone his sister downloaded what's app under her Apple ID. So when the app expires in the next 24 hours , does the person who downloaded the app ( whatsapp) Apple ID go away, or does my friend have to uninstall and reinstall under her Apple ID? I. Asking for my friend, I do not own an apple device. Nor will I ever. The fact that I'm using an iPad which is also my friends, is irrelevant. Thank you to anyone who can help.

I'm not at all clear what you're asking. Apps don't expire after 24 hours.

I didn't explain it right. The app needs to be updated. And it is warning that my friend will lose this version of whatsapp, if she doesn't update the app. However the app was installed by a friend under their Apple ID. So will she lose any contacts if she updates with her Apple ID.
