I guess it’s still early but I really don’t know how apps are going to utilize an extended display for a touch only UI, beyond video playback and slideshow.
I welcome the move from lightning to USB C on the iPad. Even though in its current state it adds little value for me, at least it only stands to add value. But I’m having a hard time understanding Apple’s motivation behind it. By giving up their proprietary lightning port, it seems they stand to lose a lot more than we stand to gain as a whole. Unless major new functionality is coming via software (eg. cursor support for extended displays, or external drive support).
