I have not seen a thread regarding this yet, but would love to see a list of apps that are currently supporting an “extended” mode when the iPad Pro is connected to an external display. The “mirroring” is exhausting

Duet Display is a work-around app to get the two worlds (iPad on Mac) together – or: trying it…

Yes, I would like to know this too. So far the only new use case for the usb c port I know of is 4K video playback.

Did they fix it in the 2018 where you can use duet while charging? The 2017 will not charge while connected to duet, which makes it a huge pain to use if you have to disconnect it to charge twice a day.

Sorry for the confusion, I meant for this thread to be a place to share about new apps that support the 2018 IPP’s ability to output video via USB-C in a way that adds additional workspace, rather than using the iPad as a secondary display from another computer

I guess it’s still early but I really don’t know how apps are going to utilize an extended display for a touch only UI, beyond video playback and slideshow.

I welcome the move from lightning to USB C on the iPad. Even though in its current state it adds little value for me, at least it only stands to add value. But I’m having a hard time understanding Apple’s motivation behind it. By giving up their proprietary lightning port, it seems they stand to lose a lot more than we stand to gain as a whole. Unless major new functionality is coming via software (eg. cursor support for extended displays, or external drive support).
