Apps using Facebook...is this safe?

Have noticed numerous apps where it gives you the option to use your Facebook login to access the app.
Is this safe? Does Facebook post up info from other apps for others to see?

Most apps indicate what they can see and do on Facebook if you login on their app using your Facebook login.
I have used it quite a lot and nowadays most apps don't actually post anything on your Facebook without explicit asking you to.

Almost every other app asks for facebook.. though i dont know about the security factor but do log in with fb do enjoy extra benefits like free gems, or friend bonus etc.
