If you are one of the many who want to see apps released for the ATV2, what apps would you most want to see?

For me, I'd love to see an HBO Go-type app (or hope that HBO fixes Airplay for the iphone version).

Hulu Plus
NBC
CBS
Fox
ABC
Atom Films

I agree with all the ones you said basically, especially Hulu Plus. I would also add:
HBO
Showtime
Food Network
Weather Channel
Live News Feeds
Galaga
Pac Man
Battleship
Flight Simulator
Facebook
Facetime
Keynote

ESPN3
EyeTV
Hulu

With these, I would finally buy an ATV2 and move my mini out of the living room. HGTV, Facetime and HBO would be a nice bonus (if HBO opened it up to everyone).

Weather Channel
Live News Feeds
Facebook

I would like these although only if Apple updated the interface to same an OSD for notifications (or just copy growl).

Edit: just want to add that an NFL app similar to MLB would be huge.

BBC iPlayer
4OD
Safari!?

wonder if apple will still restrict users to one app at a time on a 58" screen, or will they finally allow multiple apps open in windows

NFL
Hulu Plus
ESPN3
EyeTV
HGTV

I didn't add all of the networks because with my OTA antenna and EyeTV I already have all of the networks in HD, we just need a built in app to make it easier to show them live although Airplay works good for that. So these are the top 5 in my book. The cool thing is all of them are already on iOS so it's probably just a matter of "when" not "if".

I'm right there with you. I use an HDHomeRun for my tuner, so an app that can pick up those live streams would work, although I'd live to have some of the DVR capabilities from EyeTV (pause, rewind, etc).

Something, anything, that lets me watch The Daily Show
Dropbox (to allow images and media to stream from account)
BBC iPlayer for US access
Amazon (Video/Audio Player for their video-on-demand and music cloud)

Only really BBC iPlayer. And 4OD.

Can't imagine doing anything else on the TV other than watching TV programmes, and iPlayer and 4OD are all I watch.

Although I suppose if there were some interesting multi-player / party-type games (something like mario kart maybe, split screen where mine and friends' iPhones / iPads / iPod Touches were the controllers), that'd be great!

If there was a Love Film app I'd consider signing up (Love Film is the UK's (inferior) equivalent to Netflix). iPlayer and 4oD would be good as well, but I think more than anything else I'd like my Apple TV to be able to stream Internet Radio — the amp it's connected to only has an AM/FM tuner, so if my ATV2 could play Internet Radio it'd be a really convenient way to have radio functionality. Currently I use TuneIn on my iPhone and AirPlay it to the ATV, but this kills my phone's battery and isn't the most elegant solution.
