As a lot of us on here have os 3.0 GM build and with the OS being released in a week I though It would be appropriate to create this thread.

Post the apps you find that will and already do support Push notifications!!

Im shore there isn't any now but I expect apps devs will be pushing new versions in the days leading to OS 3.0 release and there after.

The ESPN app is out (I guess the one they demoed in March), but no push notifications are in it that I see. Nothing as of yet pushes, and I don't have any settings to enable it either.

Because 3.0 isn't out yet. Push apps require 3.0. You will see a slew of them next wednesday.

Apps that are confirmed to be using push:
ESPN
AP News
Facebook (But coming later)

I'm sure people know of more, as well...

However, we'll have to wait for new apps to download before they actually work. I have one that I've been testing with that sends and receives texts. The texts are received as push notifications, but I won't likely release it because we're just too small and bigger companies will do it.

There's a vid on youtube of Beejive push notifications. (I posted it in this forum too, if you have a dig through the last page or two)

At this point there aren't many because not a lot of people will be using them, but in order to make people think they're special or something, most of the push apps will come next wednesday.

I wish there was an app store sales chart, because next wednesday it will skyrocket.

At this point there aren't any because developers can not release 3.0 apps yet.

As of a few weeks ago, all submitted apps were required to be 3.0 compatible.

That meant that in 3.0 they won't crash, be buggy, and lag. The PUSH can't come until an update after the official release of 3.0. This has been said over 9000 times.

As of a few weeks ago, all submitted apps were required to be 3.0 compatible.

Being compatible is different. Up until Monday the average developer could not upload an app compiled for 3.0. Compatible with yes, compiled for no.

Companies like Beejive, etc were able to submit their apps weeks ago. Us average devs could not submit 3.0-ready apps until Monday. Any approved ones will go live on the 17th (more likely probably the 16th).
