Apps worked fine now they don't ?!?

I got my first iPhone yesterday (32GB 3G S). Late last night I download the following apps via the app store link on the phone: facebook ,WSJ, NYTimes, USA Today, The Weather Channel and a game called Paper Toss (all apps are free). It all worked fine after the download. Now however, when I tap the icon it seems to load and I see the apps "home screen" for a split second but then it flips back to app list on the phone itself. What's happening?

I've sync'd the iphone with my computer and authorized it but still it doesn't work...

I would reboot the phone. I'm using a couple of those with no issues.
