Although this doesn't appear to be on the UK store yet (so I haven't been able to test), thought this may be of interest to bargain hunters!

Not only does AppSniper allow you to track which apps are on sale, but it also notifies you when apps you're interested in have met your price target

Bught it and it's great. You can see new apps just as they are released, as well as any price drops. You can also set a target price if you like an app but it's priced too high. Needs some work, but a great addition to the phone - picks up where the AppStore leaves off.

it's great except the 2.2 update killed the keyboard on this app.
When its fixed it should be great!

I contacted the developer about availability outside the US and got the following reply

the reason it's not there today is that we currently only support USD currency. We are in the process of adding support for GBP, Euro's, Yen, etc and this will be rolled out in the next update. We hope to have that submitted to Apple sometime next week.

Sounds positive and excellent support!

But..but..this app will relieve me of my OCD-like tendency of checking appshopper.com twice daily. I can't have that happen.

The latest update fixed the keyboard issue and the App is now on sale worldwide (with support for multiple currencies).

Only twice a day? Man I must have it really bad then. I check probably twice an hour (new apps, updates, just browsing, checking reviews).

Got this app - its superb!

Anyone know where it gets its data from? Is it a custom thing or does it check websites? I'm wondering if it could miss anything new or on-sale (in other words, can I give up my website checking addiction and just use this!)

This app is great. It has already saved me a lot more than the .99 cost.

this looks a good app, even better at the sale price. Now my OCD viewing in App Store has been diverted to launching this app ;)

One small bug - when switching to the Config tab from either of the App listing tabs results in the Preferences header text being overwritten by residue of the previous tab , ie you can see ghosting of All Free under Preferences, making for a bit of a mess. Oh, and just seen this happens on the Snipes tab as well.

(Sorry, I do have a screenshot but my browser at work won't let me attach. Will add it when I get home.)

I've just received notification that a new version is being developed(I'll be getting the beta any time now =]) and that it'll have... push notifications! JK don't we all wish that. Anyway here's the feature update I got:
The two big features we've got in the next release are watch lists
and hot-lists.

Watch list is like a snipe list where you can add apps that you just
want to watch. Any time there is ANY price
movement (up or down), or any update to the application, it will let
you know.

Hot lists let you browse through the top-100 apps in each category
and game sub category. We're going to be
adding more lists in this area as well, perhaps even user ranked
lists in the future.

We've also added a bunch of smaller features like support for
additional currencies such as swiss francs, swedish
kroner, etc. We're also bumping the number of snipes/watch list
higher (right now it's 100 but we may make this
even higher), and adding the ability to backup your lists on our
server, and then restore whenever you want.

Does AppSniper slow down the backup time during sync?

Hey guys and gals, newbie here.

First off, I LOVE this app. It's already paid for itself many times over, and it's a real time-saver because it's a much more efficient way for me to obsessively keep track of everything new in App-land. However, I have been having some real issues with how my backup time has slowed down recently when I sync my iPhone in iTunes. I don't have any reason to specifically believe that it is AppSniper that is causing this, but I know that other apps have had issues with this, especially apps that store increasing amounts of data for you. And since AppSniper stores all of your "Snipe" and "Watch" info, and I've got close to 70 now, I was wondering if the info that AppSniper stores could be slowing down my sync? Is anyone else having this issue? Thanks in advance.
