The title says it. Just happens on my iPad, not on my iPhone though. Whenever I open the appstore it asks for my password. Why is that? Is there a setting I'm missing? Couldn't find anything related to that in my system prefs. Thanks...

Love Juice said:no, its called security. happens on my 3gs as well, just not as often. if you happen to lose your ipad, would you want the person who found it download every single app they could and rack up your cc?? it really isn't that big of an inconvenience. it's also been covered here several times if you bothered to search.

Chill out love juice. He is talking about being asked for a password every time he goes to the app store not only when trying to download. This forum is full of nasty people.
I had this on my iPhone recently (haven't experienced on my iPad yet) and it was because at some point an app download had been interrupted. The iPad thinks it's still downloading it so it's trying to access the store and hece your account. You need to find which app it is, delete it and install it afresh.
Hope this helps.
