Hmm...its going on 3 days since 1.1.1 was released and still nothing from apptapp, ifuntastic, or anyone, the other updates had a new apptapp within a few hours....do you think it'll be a long time before these guys crack this update?

Yes, because this update was substantial, and from what i understand the filing system is different and it is much harder to crack. Be patient maybe they will crack it maybe they won't, only time will tell.

these guys know exactly what they are doing, there determined to play this cat and mouse game, it must be fun to them, they hacked it since it came out, theres not a doubt in my mind it will be hackable for 1.1.1 within a week. and when it does, apple will get back at them. it will be a while before this game comes to an end.

Certainly interesting, but maybe not significant at all...

For the past few days, including yesterday, the main page for apptapp said "This will not work with iPod Touch or with the 1.1.1 software at this time."

But now today they've removed that notice....hmmm....something in the works?

"This does not work with iPod Touch or iPhone firmware 1.1.1 at this time. However you can downgrade an iPhone by following the instructions here"

taken from their site.

I am sure (or I REALLY hope) that their working on something, but that said the "This does not work with..." quote is still on their website.

Yeah, it was gone for a while there--but it's back now, and now they've added a link to the downgrade instructions. I guess that's all they were changing. Drat!

As of now, the best approach is to downgrade, and a lot of the focus is on improving downgrade methods, etc, etc. The 128 bit AES encryption on 1.1.1 is not easy to get into..

Can anyone post the SIMPLE, EASY, NON-COMPLICATED downgrading instructions. I attempted to downgrade this morning and it actually just restored my iPhone completely!

I am looking to downgrade to reinstall apptapp... THANKS!

Try this link and use the intrusctions that the poster "The General" used...

You just need to get a copy of the 1.0.2 software, I think there's a link for it in that thread..

So is everyone just going to downgrade and never do another update through apple again? I know here in the future Apple will continue to add apps and make the phone better. I mean look what they have done in the short time it has been out. They have changed the whole cell phone market. If I recall, I was reading the forums on here and everyone was so exxitied about and saying great things about it. Everyone knew what they were getting and now all anyone does is complain about this or that. You still have the most advanced cell phone on the market. Yea, I was a little bummed to lose my themes and a couple other things but that was about it. So really my question is, if for some reason apptapp can't find way to hack this 1.1.1, r u guys never going to update anything else they do in the future? I dont know about the rest of u, but I finally upgraded today and I'm very happy about it. It runs a lot smoother, no crashing etc. I know it will only get better, people just need to realize that and give it time.

As soon as they add an eBook reader, I'll upgrade (or if AppTapp works with the upgrade, I'll be glad to).

Until then, I need the third-party app.

I know apple will be adding features to the iphone but I am going to stick with 1.02 until there is something I can't live without. Unfortunately I don't think apple will be adding a Nintendo emulator or a Yahtzee game any time soon so it would have to be something more amazing than the wifi store for me to get excited.

I know all of us are waiting for the day 1.1.1 can be modded. But instead of waiting in silence, consider making a donation to the programmers who are trying to break through the latest wall.

Any new apps on apptapp lately?

Has anyone seen any new apps come through apptapp lately. Unless my installer isnt updating properly, I havent seen a new app on apptapp in about a week... anyone have any info?

Thanks...

Yeah services is new it turns wi-fi, edge blue tooth, and something else off or at least gives you the option

I would imagine app development will slow down a little bit until 1.1.1 is liberated. I would imagine Developers are hesitant to create new apps if they aren't sure that appTap will be available on 1.1.1. I would also imagine NullRiver is busy with appTap and 1.1.1 as well.

I agree but they must know that between the people that downgraded back to 1.0.2 for the applications and the people that never updated in the first place that they have a large number of us still using their application.

Apptapp update TODAY

Anyone else notice when opening the Apptapp installer today then when it updates that MANY applications are now missing... Anyone know whats going on??

That does it to me sometimes but if I go back in later they will be there again. So I am not sure why it does that.

I think this is the best forum i've read in a long time. Cause really for everyone with a third party app are you really never going to update ever again? And if apple wanted you to have any other apps like Navzion or NES emulator i think they would have sold the iPhone an app intsaller to begin with! So for any one that is thinking about downgrading your iPhone to 1.0.2 and not really computer savy you better start thinking about what your gong to tell apple when you screw up downgrading and try and ask if that is covered in the warranty. An 1.1.1 isn't so bad my iPhone runs a lot better now that i did the update. And you know that apple is going to ome out with something so great for the iPhone (instead of WiFi iTunes) that everyone is going to want it and then you have to do the update and then bye bye apptap and then you have to try and start hacking all over again. So why don't you just use your state of the art phone like a state of the art phone and quit hacking it and screwing it for others that like the iPhone for the phone that it is!!!

You obviously have not downgraded or jailbroke or anything BUT if your going to write a post like this at least have the details. You dont need to be computer "savvy" at all to downgrade or install apptapp... you need one skill. You need to know how to READ. The instructions are so that a 2nd grader can read then and click where need be. Now, if you read about how to do these things you could have wrote with a bit more education on the subject that you did. That all said, you might be a person who is very computer "savvy", but maybe its just reading that is difficult for you? :)

Also, SAVY is spelt with 2 v's so maybe spelling isn't your strong suit either.

By the way, my "state of the art" phone, WHICH BE CLEAR I LOVE, cannot delete more then one email at a time. Yes, very state of the art. Also if you haven't noticed that Apple right now is more interested in giving us app's that make them money then your not only reading and spelling disabled, but possibly also blind!

Ok honestly I prob. bit off a little more than i could chew but I actually have tried to downgrade and with like a million differrent people saying how to do it in there own way i guess i may have gotten confused and ened up just restoreing my iPhone to its original setting. So from that little issue i had decided to post my frustrated opinion.
