My Apricorn card arrived yesterday and I'm loving the performance increase in OS X (around 100MB/s faster with my Kingston V300...not the best drive I know).
I'm curious however about the second SATA socket on the card. At present I have Windows 10 installed on the original 5400 drive the Mac came with back in '08. I'd like to replace it with an SSD as I use Windows solely for gaming and it takes an age to boot up etc. I'd probably be reasonably happy with SATA-II from the logic board ports but If I can get SATA-III performance from the Velocity then it seems sensible to do so.
Three questions which I cannot find the answers to.
1. Where do I get the power from for the second SSD.
2. When running OS X, will the second SSD connected bottleneck the performance of the primary SSD connected directly to the card.
3. Where would the best place be to mount the second SSD (Ideally I'd like to keep my optical drive connected).
