Up until recently, if I wanted to save a message, I would either copy or move it to my iCloud folder. Then I would delete files in bunches from my various folders. The previous messages in my iCloud folder remained there until recently when they disappeared.

I'm now trying to save these important messages in my iCloud archive folder. If I do a mass delete, will they remain there.

I lost a lot of important messages from my iCloud folder that are gone forever. If the above is not a good way to same important emails, what is?

Time for me to go into my periodic rant about not using email systems as a document store. I have seen too many people lose data when the store gets corrupted. Also hard to restore them from a backup unless the backup system knows the details of how messages are stored.

My preference is to save messages I need to keep as a PDF and them add them to my filing system. Since it’s one message to a PDF, backup and restore are easy. Example - just received an email receipt for something I ordered. Need to keep the receipt. It gets saved and I no longer need the email.

Thanks, I think I'll try that. It was so easy to just copy to the iCloud account UNTIL the iCloud account no longer kept my important emails.
