Are 6 pin pcie cable that ship with Mac Pro adequate to power newer Nvidia Cards

Hi Guys,
I did a search and can't find an answer.My 5,1 MP shipped with 2x5770, are the 2x6 pin stock connectors adequate enough to power a GTX570? They seem a lot thinner gauge wire than the 3rd party ones that MacVidCards supplies.
I read here that MacVidCards said the GTX570 can pull up to 110 watt from each connector.

And GTX 570 were usually one 6-pin and one 8-pin

PCIe rail - 75W
6-pin connectors - 75W
8-pin is 150W

A GPU would have to pull less than 225W at full stress to safely work with two 6-pins

According to this, 219W though there can be individual differences in models, eVGA had a number of, OC, SC etc. The 2.5GB VRAM model was popular for its VRAM and CUDA with Adobe users.

It seems unusual it has only 2x6pin the earlier revision 1 model had and 8+6 pin
What I dont understand is if its pulling more than 75 watt from both connectors (out of spec)

Your 6-pin cables were built with some headroom just like any other parts, so occasionally they could withstand up to 110W even though they are rated for 75W. The MacVidCards' quote you mentioned earlier was addressing FurMark which is a questionable benchmark application. You'll be fine as long as you are not obsessed with running that particular benchmark. Here is a further elaboration on the same topic in case you are interested.
