I posted this here as I thought it would the most suitable place and more people would know the answer.

Anyway, are all movie on the iTunes Store now high definition? I have never download a film from iTunes and I am looking at Iron Man 2 which will be my first. The file size does say 1.81GB so I assume it is 720p? But just want to be sure before I grab it.

Another thing, if I were to download Iron Man 2 onto my MacBook would I then also be able to download it onto my iPad or iPhone in case I wasn't home and wanted to watch it? Or is the only way to get it onto other devices by syncing with iTunes?

Thanks

There is an hd and a Sd version of the film. The Hd version of the film will cost more. So make sure to select the HD version.

No. There are some available in only SD some in HD and some both.

Anything available in HD is also available in SD, plus when you buy anything HD you get a SD copy.

And OP, 720p HD Files are at least 3 GB big and Iron Man 2's HD version is 4.04 GB big.

Well I'm looking at the Iron Man 2 page on the iTunes UK store and I don't see an option anywhere to buy SD OR HD. It just has one price which is £9.99.
How do I make sure I am downloading the HD version?

You probably can't buy HD versions outside the US. I certainly can't here in NZ. Rent yes, buy no.

Wow...well that sucks. So because I don't live in a certain place, I can't get HD versions of films...? Brilliant...
I was actually ready to switch to digital film downloads purely because I thought it was HD and we have no BluRay player so we have no other way.
Thanks Apple...

Just might try and make a US account sometimes and get it that way.

Don't blame Apple, blame the producers AND the content owners. Apple would LOVE to sell the HD move expensive version, but the content owners are freaked about so called piracy.

Why do people always blame the distributer for the theiving actions of the content owners, like Apple for their NOT being allowed to sell certain movies in HD or Amazon for publishers setting prices for Kindle books HIGHER than hardcover books especially when a paperback version is available for MUCH less? Could it be because people are to lazy to do analysis of facts?
