I just bought a MacMini off a friend whos had his for probably a couple years now. At time of writing its OSX 1.5.7 (still has the old dock) and has a 100GB hard drive.

Is this model compatible with the Apple remote?

At first guess, id imagine so, but i dont see anywhere on it that could receive the signal, you know? So id like to ask the Mac community here so i dont run out and purchase a remote for nothing.
(this thing will be my personal cheaper Apple TV :))

Depends on the age, if it is a G4, no. But if it is Intel, it is remote compatible. The sensor is to the right of the optical slot. It blends in pretty well. See the attached picture.

Depends on how old it is. I have a mac mini with a 100gb hard drive that doesn't have a remote sensor. Do you know what speed CPU it has?

You can find out by clicking on the Apple in the top left hand corner and selecting "about this mac"
