Are all USB 2.0 flash drives the same speed?

I purchased a 16GB PNY Attache and cloned my hard drive before I installed anything on it. My only reason is for backup and to run a few utilities. It seems to be a little leisurely when I boot from it though. Does anybody know if there are faster read and write ones or is this as good as it gets?

They are not the same speed, but they are all slow compared to eSATA and Firewire, and of course worlds slower than your internal bus.

I usually check user reviews at newegg.com before I buy something like that, just to get an idea.

There are definitely faster ones out there, though they usually cost more. I've seen USB Flash Drives with up to 30MB/s, but I don't remember the price.

Take a look at here! There are definitely faster ones out there but USB 2.0 is often the bottleneck
