I have been trying out a few monitors and have decided upon the LG 5K monitor


This is essentially a mac-only monitor designed for MacBook Pro (2016 or later). This is the improved model released one year ago.

I hope this is a stupid question. Do you think the change-over will wreck this lightning bolt (only, no Display Port or anything else) monitor? The graphics processor on my 2018 MacBook Pro 13” is not a discrete unit.

You mean thunderbolt? Hard to know if the arm macs will support thunderbolt or not. I suspect they will (or aT least USB-4 with the thunderbolt compatibility bits turned on)

Yes, I meant thunderbolt. After I posted my question I found an earlier post (below) on the same subject. Your tentative answer is also the general consensus of others, if I read things right.
