I'm very disappointed reading about people with complaints about the SR Macbook displays. I've had an original MacBook since it came out and have really loved the display on it. It put the past Dell laptops I've had to shame in that department. Now I'm reading about people who are really unhappy with the SR MacBook displays. My wife has been begging for a Mac ever since I got mine and I was going to surprise her for Christmas by ordering one on Black Friday. It's starting to look like that's not a very good idea because by the time it gets opened under the tree, we'll be past the return date I believe.

Very disappointing.

From what I hear, only some of them have poor screens. I know that there are many people out there that are happy with thier macbooks and have no problems with it. If your still unsure about it, buy applecare as well. Best of luck.

Some people have said on these forums that their sr mb screens are bad in osx and great in vista so i think it's a driver issue with the x3100 being so new to macs.

anyone got one and think it looks any better or just as bad in vista?

It's not a driver issue.

The default color profile in Windows XP is bright but the colors aren't washed out.

remember that these forums represent a very small percentage of mac owners. people with no problems generally have no reason to seek out these forums and post on them.

if it sucks just ask for a new one?
