When I set a Live wallpaper for the home screen (live photo) , I do not see a single animation taking place!: am I supposed to 3D Touch the screen or should it happen automatically? Already tried restarting the device or setting a still image and back to Live with no luck...

Are Live Wallpapers supposed to animate by themselves?

Couldn't agree more. I suppose Apple would argue it all relates to battery life, but who knows.
If you choose one of your own photos, it can be fun to press on the lock screen once in a while, but that’s about it.
