Are Macbooks sturdier than the MBPs?

How sturdy are these machines? I know its early to tell, but do they seem rugged enough for everyday use? my view is that the MBPs are more fragile, and would like to know if this is true.

What about the rumors the blackbooks were flaking? has this been dismissed allready?

MBs are sturdier than MBPs, and more to the point for most people they don't get dented the way a MBP can. I have a MBP, and I used to have an aluminum powerbook, so I'd like to say that they are not very fragile, but most people I know who have owned one have managed to put a dent in it. Is it so hard to take good care of something you spend a lot of money on? Apparently.

Anyway, as for the flaking, I couldn't say.

I have a white MacBook and a 17" Aluminum PowerBook and I must say that the Macbook feels much more sturdy and solid. I like the aluminum because I feel like it may be easier to clean, but to be honest I like the feel of the MacBook in my hands much better than the PowerBook. I realize that the PB is not the MacBookPro, but the construction is so similar that I believe the comparison holds.

With the MBP you do have to worry about denting the aluminum case as Chaszmyr stated and I don't feel that you get any *more* scratch resistance over the polycarbonate MB shell. In fact, polycarb is made to be impact/scratch resistant, so it may actually be better than the aluminum; however, I can't be sure...it's just speculation.
