Hmm, I remember reading BB was low on stock, but I never went and verified, so I really can't tell. I think Amazon Germany was also low. If these places are restocking now, this might mean that the MBA refresh is a false alarm.

my advice: forget about these details. the refresh, it seems, will happen very, very soon, maybe next week. just try to sit tight for a bit and, before you know it, the universe will have magically given birth to shiny new Macbook Airs (and the afterbirth will be glittery and taste like gelato).

trust me, i know it's hard to wait, but the fact is, nobody knows for sure. even if you could see BBs stock yourself, you still don't know when the new Air is coming. it's (most probably) so close now, that there's no point in not simply waiting.

good luck ;)

i'm waiting too.

Here only one of the 4 Best Buy's has all the models in stock the others only have the entry level 11" in stock.

I think an update is coming probably mid to late July.

Figure two weeks for the Lion GM to get threw testing and then be released.

The week of the 18th seems the soonest we could see the update.

I have this image...

I have this image in my head of Apple's retailers being hand-cuffed and held down by burly Apple employees.

I assume you actually main constrained or restricted?

You won't get a definite statement because that would be tantamount to admitting that a new product is on the way. But you can get a feel based on reports of availability at some of the big box shifters like Best Buy.

Personally my current 'gut feel' is that there won't be a new MBA this summer (I wouldn't bet anything on that though) and that any stock issues you might be seeing are just down to demand / poor ordering by the retailer.

Did you not notice the link to Best Buy? Had anyone bothered to check, including yourself, we would have had some indication to varify these reports. I don't think anyone was expecting the CEO of Best Buy to go out and check the warehouse for us. lol

You know what they say about people who make assumptions.

In my area Best Buy only has the 11" model. However places like Apple and Amazon appear to have them innstock and ready to ship same day.

I did check the website at the initial report and when I check now I see the same information: "Not Available for Shipping" or "Backordered." Some base models are available.

Amazon is also seemingly low on stock. Or at least some models only seem to have 4 or 5 left.

Some models have over 10 left. Even if that might seem like a lot, remember Amazon fulfills orders from other retailers. Their are still retailers on there with brand new 2009 models available, so it is hard to gauge off of their stock.

How can you check the amount they have left?
