Are My Batteries Shot?

My gen 2 AirPod charger died. The ear buds just laid around for 3-4 months until I was able to buy another charger. I fully charged them and took them out of the charger. Ten hours later the left one had 25% left and the right 45%.
is there a way to resurrect these batteries or are they shot from staying in a prolonged state of discharge?
