When I capture and image on my iPhone X or someone AirDrops one to my phone, are they backed up in iCloud in HEIC format. The reason I ask is because I'd like to edit the HEIC images with Lightroom.

When I go to iCloud, and click on Save as, I only have PNG as a choice.

What have I missed?

Thank you for your help.

For HEIF photos, you need to go to Settings>Camera>Formats>High Efficiency

Then take a new picture with Camera app, go into Photos app to ensure it upload completely then examine it on your Mac.

If you screenshot, the picture will be saved as PNG file.

[doublepost=1558884361][/doublepost]Yes, my images are being stored in HEIC format. Now, my next challenge is how to download them. Doing a right click does not bring up an option with that choice - or I'm not seeing it.

In the past, I was able to download the images in HEIC format, but I have forgotten how I did it (age :)).
