I have emailed Apple to no avail.

I'm going for the Black MacBook in January (after the 9th) incase any updates happen at MacWorld.

Anyway I was wondering if anyone knows, Are the optional HDs perpendicular on the Macbook?

Thanks:)

Here and there!
I'm sure we probably have a thread about it somewhere; or you could head down to the MacBook picture thread and ask people what model numbers of HD they have in their 120GB MacBooks (C2D only). Then check those numbers against the model numbers of perp. recording drives.

Ok - I havn't found any 120GB drives that utilize both Serial ATA and perpendicular recording. Seagate does have an ATA/100 version, the Momentus ST9120822A, and I would assume that they will eventually be releasing one for SATA (model number would probably be ST9120822AS.

I hope this helps!
