This has been asked many times but yes same case. Only thing is you will block the lanyard loop on the right side of the case and the speaker on the bottom.

I would just buy a gen 2 case, they are all over amazon now

Got gen1 that I’m giving it to my 12 year old son. I’m picking up the gen2 Sunday at Apple. I ordered a case on Amazon today. $9 bucks shipped. Arrives Sunday.

Will Gen1 charge if they are placed inside a Gen2 case? I dont want to spend $100 on a case when I can buy the upgraded version and have two pairs of buds. Thanks

A case for the case? How did this ever become a thing..?

Some of us dont want our airpods to look like they were chewed up / beat to ****. I also hate the white glossy look and prefer a $9 matte / rubber texture case.

Hi we’re you able to confirm this? Lost my AirPods Pro case and I am wondering if I can use an AirPods Pro 2 case in its place.

I did and the pairing between the pods and case didnt work. I got the "mismatched airpods" warning in iOS but I was curious and took them in and the diagnostic said the same thing but they have a specific word for the airpods not pairing to each other and the airpods and case not pairing to each other. my airpods pros 1 in the pro 2 case flagged both.

When everyone here has AirPods, or you have multiple sets, it helps to distinguish between each different set. Also I noticed some cases have a latch, so if you drop accidentally the case won't pop open.
