Sorry if this sounds dumb but I’m about too purchase the AirPods pro and I’m just trying to get a idea of how the sounds quality will be.

are the AirPods Pro better than the wired headphones?

I have the air pods pro. Unless my fit is not perfect because my ear shape I do not think think it is as good. But some folks say it’s better. If you can try them before you buy I would recommend that. I still like them for all their other features but to me the sound quality is slightly better on the wired.

The pro is like night and day better than both the wired and the regular airpods. They have actual bass.

I must have duds then because mine have zero bass

You sure you have a good seal?

With the Airpods Pro, its a lot easier to get a good seal and with that, have a good sound quality (especially bass). At least with my ears, so YMMV. The only way for me to get a decent bass sound with the wired EarPods and the regular AirPods is to use little foam pads. Without those, they are way too loose in my ear (they fall out) and sound quality is piss-poor.

I only bought my Airpods Pro a couple of days ago but I like the sound quality A LOT better then my wired EarPods. I must admit though that I have to get used to the in-ear form factor of the Airpods Pro. I have been experimenting with the different tip sizes, right now I am using the largest size. The smallest are too small for me, but when I use the seal test, I always get a good seal with both the medium size and the large size tips... so far the largest tips are the most comfortable for me...

Airpods Pro are orders of magnitude better than the wired earphones and the regular Airpods. You do have to have a decent fit/seal, but I would argue the Pro’s are well on the high-end side of the audio scale.

airpods pro is so much better than the wired lightning, there is bass! but personally I've never had any trouble with the fit of the apple's eaarbuds.

Well... although they are very good, they are not as good as my Sony h.ear on 2 headphones imho... At least not when comparing pure sound quality. I do like the transparency mode of the Airpods Pro a lot better though then the similar mode (called ambient sound mode) of the Sony headphones...

I’m not sure what exact model Sony’s you are talking about - but from pure sound perspective, the Airpods Pro are good enough to mostly make me not bother with the 5-figure+ stack of headphone gear next to my computer. They are, however quite fragile - I’m going on my third set in just over 6 months. But sound quality wise there is little missing. Very smooth mid range with good bass and acceptable highs. IMO, having listened critically/reviewed high end headphones for 20+ years, the Airpods Pro are largely overlooked ”because Apple”.

Yep. The original AirPods sounded better than the wired EarPods so therefore the Pro’s improve on that again.

The AirPods 2 (not Pro) have a slightly bigger driver in them compared to the EarPods (7 mm vs 6,5 mm, if I remember it right). For more in-depth sound analysis, check this site:

You will find EarPods and APP there too. 🖐
