iPod Are the Apple Earphones with Remote compatible with the iPod Nano 3G?

Hey.
I know on Apple's site it says they're not compatible but does anyone own a 3rd Gen iPod Nano and the Apple In-Ear Headphones with Remote who can verify if they the buttons work or not?

Alas, the answer is NO. Here's the reason why: look at the headphone jack on the current In-Ear headphone: it has four conductive surface areas compared to three you get on "normal" headphones. As such, only the 4G/5G nano, "6.5G" classic 120/160 GB, 2G/3G iPod touch and the iPhone 3Gs support the remote feature on this headphone.
