My current plan is to purchase the Beats Studio Pro to use with my Apple TV for the next year or two until the new AirPods Max comes out. They've been on sale for $200 or less recently which seems like a pretty good price. Does anyone here have them & would they be good to get? I'd prefer not to buy the current AirPods Max since new ones will be coming out already within the next year or two judging from all the reports.

Hated the Airpods Max. Were far to heavy for me. My dog ate my up my own studio's 3's which was why I went experimenting.
I've been using a studio 3 on loan from a family member who rarely uses them, but went for the $170 Beats Pro on black friday as I just feel bad borrowing.
Sound is better, especially at high volume vs the studio 3, and they are as comfortable which is a huge plus. I don't notice that much of a difference unless you push them (which you tend to do in noisy environment's ie train/plane). ANC is also significantly better on the studio Pro vs the 3.

For $170 the Studio Pro's are a solid choice, for your usage though I might try to look for a new pair of studio 3's (Several places have had them for $99 since the pro), they are slightly more comfortable than the pro's due to less clamp and with a Apple W2 chip will connect easier/faster to the ATV vs the standard BT ("proprietary beats") the Pro's have switched to. I think watching tv I'd much prefer the 3's added comfort vs the pros clarity.

So I bought the Beats Studio Pro & I think they're pretty good. I'd say they're definitely worth the $180 sale price but not the $350 they're originally. I put a few iTunes movies on to test out the spatial audio with movies that have dolby atmos & they sound great. For just stereo sound they sound good. I've heard some say they don't sound too loud but I've had them at 80% already & they sound loud enough for me. This is just my opinion since I'm not some huge audiophile person but they fit my needs until the AirPod Max 2 comes out. They fit good for me too but I think results vary on that since it seems opinions are mixed on the fit. My main issues with the Studio Pro from since I've had them are that the case they come in isn't good since it's too small. I'm looking into headphone stands to buy for it. And they feel a bit plastic & don't feel like they should be at a $350 original price but they're a good price for $180.

As far as I know the Studio 3 doesn't do spatial audio.
