Are the "Law in a Flash" Apps worth it?

Let me first start by saying that I'm probably going to either buy the App for $39.99 or the actual flash cards for the same price. My inquiry doesn't ask for a cost/benefit analysis of the price or the flash cards in general.

That being said, what are the positives and negatives about each? Are the Apps updated with newer cases and examples? The portability of an iPhone or iPod Touch obviously makes the App. seem more appealing than hauling around the box of flash cards everywhere. However, I'm hesitant to buy the App. if there are less questions than in the actual flash cards or if the App is difficult to use.

Anyone have any thoughts and/or experience with this? How about anyone who bought the App. to study for finals this semester? I'm looking at buying the Professional Responsibility and Wills & Estates ones for next semester.

Thanks for the reply at least. You probably really don't know what I'm talking about since I doubt the "law in a flash" applications are available in the UK iTunes store.

When i was in law school (a t14) there was a market for used law in a flash. The iphone kills that. Why would you buy it if it has no resell value?

I see your point. But to answer your question (although it was rhetorical): I don't really care about the resale value. To be realistic, you buy the cards for $40 and maybe sell them for $20 after going through the hassle of finding someone who will be taking the same class next semester. For me, the possible convenience of the cards on my iPhone or iPod is probably worth the $20 per class.

Also, I buy the cards to study and ultimately get good grades. I obviously place a value on them at or above the market price or I wouldn't buy them. Any resale is just a bonus.

Then they'd be worth it as long as you need help with that class. Are you a 1L?

I'm a 2L. I used them last year for Torts and Civil Procedure and last semester for Criminal Procedure and Business Associations. I thought the Civ. Pro. and Crim. Pro. ones were most helpful, but I thought they were all worth it. As you probably guessed, I don't buy them for every class in which they are available. For example, I had Evidence last semester and didn't think they would be much help because my professor gave many handouts that made studying much easier (and clearer) than any casebook. On the other hand, Civ. Pro. last year was like Arabic at the time, but I did very well on the final after using the Law in the Flash cards.

The only ones I could buy for this semester are 1) Wills, Trusts, and Estates; and 2)Professional Responsibility. As a complete side note, is there any obvious reason why the Professional Responsibility one is $60? Maybe because more people will buy it to study for the MPRE? Anyway, I won't make any decision about purchasing the flash cards until much further into the semester, but I thought I should start deciding whether or not the application for my iPhone/iPod would be a better option than the physical cards.
