iPad Are the newer models brighter than 2019?

We use iPads while flying. My issue isn’t the processing power, couldn’t care less, but screen brightness. My 2018/2019 pro (not exactly sure which it is) is kind of dim. Are the newest models of any iPads brighter?

It might be worth waiting to see what comes in May; all signs are pointing to new iPad Pro and iPad Air models, and the rumour is at least some of them will have OLED displays - much more vibrant contrast, and likely brighter

Typically OLED displays are actually dimmer than LCDs, but Apple pays for very high brightness in the iPhone so that may transfer over too.

The 12.9 inch iPad Pro is miniLED, which is generally a bit brighter and provides color accuracy.

They want to transition the iPad Pro lineup to OLED, so I would wait then before upgrading, those should be a LOT brighter.

I think the dual-stack technology is supposed to make them brighter than standard OLEDs, so that probably brings with it some promise.

There is no 2019 iPad Pro. The tech specs can be easily Googled:

Your 2018 and the 2020 iPad Pros have 600nits maximum brightness.

The 2021 and 2022 11" are the same as the 2018 and 2020.

The 2021 and 2022 12.9" iPad Pros have 1000nits maximum overall and 1600nits maximum peak for HDR content.
