I have very small ears. And the small tips fall out of my ears when laying down. Does anyone else have this problem? I wish apple had even smaller tips.

+1 @jterp7 's comment, but to add to it: I haven't gotten my APPs in the mail yet, but from what I understand the tips are very unique in the way they connect to the main body compared to the way most tips connect to earbuds, so I think if the stock tips just don't work you're simply out of luck and should return them and try something else. It's not likely there will be third-party tips, but even if there are it will probably be quite a while before any are released.

I would say size up too. I use a large in my left ear even though medium works too and a medium in my right ear. I keep the tips with me so if one starts bothering me or feels like I’m not getting a good fit, I will change it. I think a few people are ordering 3rd party foam buds from EBay. You might want to check those out.

Just got mine, I thought my ear canal was extra narrow and thus the smallest tips were not passing the fittest. I went the other direction and put in the largest and the fit test works every time. I just don't need to seat them into my ear canal and they still work and without a lot of adjustment.

I have the same problem, and have never been able to get apple earphones to fit properly. I read the forums including the ones about memory foam. I didn't want to spend more money, so instead I modified some of the hacks I read. Now, not only do my AirPods pros fit snuggly and comfortably, but noise cancellation works great! With the poor fit of the stock silicone buds I wasn't able to notice ANY noise cancellation. In fact, I thought the AirPods were defective, based upon the reviews that spoke of how GREAT the noise cancellation feature was.

My modification was to use the yellow foam earplugs that many gyms give out for free. I think they cost about 25 cents each. The procedure is as follows:

1. Cut a 3mm piece off of the foam earplug
2. Punch out a small circle in the middle, about 2-3mm. If you can't find a punch, just use a hobby knife or scalpel, it doesn't need to be perfect. I added a slight bevel to the cut, to better fit around the tube
3. Remove about 15 or 20 degrees from your donut with two sharp cuts
4. Fold the small stock silicone earpieces up, to expose the actual tube that transmits the sound
5. Place the donut around the tube near the top
6. Fold the silicone down over the yellow foam

The first one took about 30 minutes to figure things out, the second one took about 5 minutes. So easy! The small foam is essentially invisible and does not interfere with putting the AirPods in their case, whatsoever. I included 2 pics of my first attempt, which was too wide and didn't fit. You really don't need much foam to make it work. You can do this!

I had tried original AirPods when they first launched and they hurt my ears after limited use. Last week I decided to give the Pros a try and all 3 sizes wouldn't stay in my ears. They inevitably worked their way to the edge of my ears and were on the verge of falling out. So I returned them.

I've now gone full circle and went back to the AirPods and my ears aren't sore from wearing them and they fit much better compared to the Pro models. The only other headphones from Apple that feels comfortable to me are the Beats X.

I bought my other half some airpods pro for xmas. The mediums seem to fit her fine : she passed the fit test. However, I tried them on myself and none of the tips work for me at all. I think I have too narrow ear canals. None of the sizes fit me, I tried all 3. I can only pass the fit test if I use small and press them in while someone else sets off the test. Just cant get a seal.

I’ll have to stick with better sounding, more expensive, but less featured Etymotic IEMs (ER4) of which I have to use their smallest tip too.

I might have to try AirPods Max for over ears, but got here searching for 3rd party tips for APP.
