I’m really curious why you would ever allow any apps to track you, so…is anyone actually allowing any apps to track you? And why are you allowing them to do it?

The prompt pushes the choice to the user which Apple wants. Apple doesn’t want to be the bad guy blocking ads. They want the user to say NO !

Question about how the app tracking works
I assume the allow apps to Request track should be off or not green
If I set to green the only app on my phone asking for permission is Audacy which I have never used.
Just want to make sure it set up right. I do not want any apps tracking me.

I haven’t gotten the prompt but generally I don’t care if ad companies track my interests - broadly speaking I tend to consider the use case when measuring creepiness. Targeted ads, suggesting articles based on interests, or usage/debug stats rank fairly low on my creep-o-meter. Location services I tend to not allow background tasks on though to save on battery.

DarkSky. Especially now that Apple owns it. I am waiting for it to be fully integrated into Weather (notifications).

Gotten a couple of prompts.
There are people who will allow because they believe targeted ads are better than general ads.

My understanding is if it’s off, it blocks tracking without asking you.

If it’s on, apps will ask you if you want to be tracked or not.

The wording of the popup and setting says, sort of, ask not to track - do apps have to not track and is there a way to determine if they are tracking?
