I thought I had read somewhere that there is supposed to be some big feature that the public doesn't know about yet. Anyone remember reading that or know anything about it? Unfortunately Apple does a damn good job of keeping things under cover.

I highly doubt the 3G being the FCC documents shows the testing for EDGE (GPRS) and not the HSDPA for 3G

I really wish they would include the GPS and teleNav

Wouldn't be 3G ... only things I could think of would be maybe increased storage or more then likely some more apps.

Storage would be interesting, not just because I want it. But, if they increased it then the current ones that people are using is actually the low end (8GB) and the high end would be higher (12GB ?) That way, even the people reviewing it can't confirm if there is more memory or not. Ok, maybe this is just silly lol.

I think more storage is the most plausible. I don't think they'd be like "Oh yeah it has a GPS", seems kinda a weird thing to throw in at the release. I doubt it is 3G because the FCC tested with EDGE.

As great as iChat, more storage, 3G and all these other things are, is there any logical reason why Apple would keep these things a secret until the day of launch? Why not announce them at WWDC while they had everyone's attention? Or at a different event?

Wouldn't that get even MORE people in line waiting for these? Almost everyone I've talked to does NOT want to get an iPhone until they have more space, cost less, have 3G, etc.

All these bonus features sound nice and all, and I would love 'em -- almost any of them might be enough to get ME to actually buy one now too (currently I'll probably wait for 2nd gen). But it doesn't make sense to me why Apple would keep them secret until the DAY OF. None of these features that people are hoping for are that revolutionary, it's just better specs of what's already been mentioned -- so it's not like Apple would be worried about competitors stealing ideas. So how does it benefit them to keep anything more a secret until launch?

I am just curious where this rumor of a secret feature came from. I have only heard this about 10.5
hmm?

Do people actually BELIEVE in this stupid more storage rumour? I mean seriously, how daft is that theory?

people do, but it isn't as stupid as you think; apple upped the processor speeds of the first macbook pro, shipping with 1.83 ghz and 2.0 ghz core duo processors. these processors were upgraded from the announced 1.67 ghz and 1.83 ghz speeds. still, though, i doubt it will happen.
