Even if everyone here gave a uniform answer, it would still be just a rumor that could just as easily be wrong come launch day.

Apple just launched this new design. The general shape/dimensions of the chassis are probably going to stick around for at least a few more years.

I was initially sorry to see the rounded edges go, but now I like the square edges and with the less slippery Apple leather case and better distributed weight of the phone, I find the 12 Pro very easy to hold.

There is a worrying high number of people who think that small phones or hardware in particular colours (e.g. new iMacs, purple iPhone 12) are less than masculine.

Such views say more about the person stating them than anyone else.

Not really. For me rounded edges are slippery and uncomfortable to hold. Different strokes for different folks. Some do like them and some dont. Apple cant please everyone. YMMV

Apple aren't going to use flat edges for just one release cycle and change back. From the 4 to the 5s the sides were flat and then on the 6 to 11 they were rounded.

So, as the previous poster said, it'll be years before they come back.
