All iPads Are there carrier-locked iPads?

Asking as I'd want to swap eSIM when traveling internationally.

If buying an iPad directly from AT&T and Verizon or financed through them, then they're kinda locked.

The physical SIM slot is always technically unlocked. However, ATT and VZW impose carrier visibility rules so you can't sign up for plans from other carriers via Settings - Cellular.

According to a similar thread, ipads that are purchased directly from Apple are not locked to any carrier but they may be locked if you buy it from a mobile carrier as @rui no onna menioned
