Are there still problems with Boot Camp?

Hi. So I'd like to get an iMac once apple releases the long overdue update on August 7th. Sorry if this has already been asked recently, I didn't search the forums.

I was looking through a bit of the Windows on the Mac section on the MR forums and I saw quite a few threads about people having problems with Windows after they installed it on their Mac. I wasn't sure if these are common problems or if it's the fact that I'm in the Windows on Mac section so that's the main thing which would be posted.

I'm planning on installing Vista which I had already installed on my Athlon 2200+. It ran OK for about 5 months at which point it slowed down quite a bit. Stupid RAM hogger. Anyway are there any problems with using Vista on Boot Camp, such as the F8 menu appearing every time I'd run the Windows partition, or sleep problems or anything like that.

Boot Camp is pretty much usable. There might be sleeping problems, but nothing different to if Vista was on a Windows laptop. You don't get touchpad clicking though.

i have XP on my imac and it screws up the date/time on the OSX side. haven't really looked for a fix, i might google that now and get back to this thread.

If you have the time set to sync with the internet, the time issue isn't really a big matter.

XP likes to set the system clock to your local time, whereas OSX depends on the system clock being GMT and then converting to your local time zone. That's where you get the discrepancy; before the NTP sync can kick in and correct your system clock again, OSX is using the local time in the system clock as if it were GMT. It was supposed to be fixed either in this or the previous release of the Boot Camp drivers, but hasn't been yet. Either it'll be fixed by Leopard time or people will have to deal with the first minute or two of having the wrong time. Its really annoying for stuff like logging because it screws up all the timestamps.

it works, my partition works flawlessly when the boot camp drivers boot up properly, but when they don't my mac restarts automatically and then it works from the second time.
