iPod Are they duplicate.... or orignal songs only

Hi....
I have a query... I have about 6000 songs in my itunes library.... Also when i go to MAc HD ... User --- Music --- itunes... there are all those songs which are there i my Itunes....

Are they a duplicate copy or they are orignal only.... wanted to know if i couold delete them as they are taking a lot of space on my computer

They are the originals, the ones in iTunes, they aren't duplicates.

That's the default iTunes Library location, so if you deleted it then all your music would likely be lost.

Create a folder on your desktop and move all the files from your iTunes folder to it. Then open iTunes and see what happens. If your songs are all there and PLAYABLE, then your golden; if the songs are not there or don't play, close iTunes and move the files back to where they should be.
