Probably soon. Apple has added the drivers in 11.4, but it’s not like they share dates on hardware releases. Maybe WWDC.

There's a sketchy rumor about one last Intel Mac with with i9 and 6XXX. Sounds like it would be a bigger screen iMac form factor based on the included GPU, but there's another rumor about an Intel i9 version of a Mac Pro. Would expect WWDC if any of that is to be released, but would distract from the M1/M1X/MX is the future pitch.

Hackintosh. Regular off the RX 6800 - 6900 cards work in a Mac Pro . Apple doesn't have to release a MPX variant for folks to get utility. Or use in a eGPU on a Intel MacBook Pro. Enabling that gets trickle down into Hackintosh systems.

Apple already did a 'late release' of an Intel iMac 27" last Fall. The have a "coast until late 2021 - early 2022" system to ride. Highly unlikely they will follow that up with another Intel system on a short release cycle.

The Mac "large screen" ( 27-32") is more probably waiting on a MBP 16" M-series SoC. Or some up-core count variant of that that equalizes on the W5700 level of performance.

M-series is laptop focused . More likely laptops first and then later iMac.

I don't know what effect the current shortage of GPUs in the marketplace will have on Apple's ability to obtain Big Navi Chips for an MPX module. But, I suspect it might❓ But, as has been posted, reference 6800 series GPUs will run in the NcMP. I am running an RX6800.
