5.1 Beta 3 was released on Jan 9th. Almost 30 days ago. I thought the whole delta updating system was supposed to allow them to push out smaller more incremental updates at a faster pace. It seemed like we were getting much quicker updates with 4.x.
and theres the lovely bug which makes music tracks skip like a cd thats been nocked.....roll on beta 4Beta 3 is a disaster. There's a bug that makes the 3G signal drop out for ~5 seconds and it happens so often that almost every time I try to load a webpage/update twitter/send an iMessage, it fails and I have to retry. Beta 4 can't come soon enough.

It also makes me wonder how much could honestly change if a version 6.0 is to be released a rumored 5 months from now...
I'd agree that the old way of updating was annoying, because you had to plug in, and depending how much media is on your phone, the update could take hours.Also... updates annoy the population at large. When my step mother got her iPad2 for Christmas, I helped her set it up, and one of the first things was an update to 5.0.1 or .2. She commented, "I hope this isn't something I have to do all the time.".
These are the bulk of Apple's customers, they'd be wise not to piss them off petty updates.

Still no sign of the new release ... Beta 3 is way too buggy :-(
Beta 3's 3G reception is really bad on my iPhone 4SStill completely stable on my iPad 1. My iPhone is currently on 5.0.1 though due to jailbreaking.

When I receive calls from people in my phonebook or people who have name display enabled (we have call display with name display on Rogers/Fido) I cannot hang up the call after its over. I have to restart my phone. Totally bogus. This has happened on this and the previous beta.
I'm having the same issue on my iPhone 4s but not on iPhone 4, both on Rogers and the only way to get the phone to work again is to end the program or reboot.
I'm a software tester and it AMAZES me that something like this would not have been caught prior to releasing Beta 1!
