Is the 2012 MM able to be upgraded to wireless AC via firmware?

I need to extend my network and was wondering if I should hold off on getting a new AE until the updated AC version comes out?

Unlikely as I don't think I've seen any mention of the WiFi module in the mini being AC capable.

It depends on how long you can hold off. No one knows when Apple will announce it. If Apple has MacBooks that are announced at WWDC, that have AC, then they will probably announce a new AirPort Extreme at the same time.

However, right now it is just a guessing game as to what will get announced when.
